Washington Wizards Notes, Quotes 2008-06-09
--While Wizards coach Eddie Jordan never publicly campaigns for the front office to make personnel moves, he has no problem going to bat for his coaching staff. The contracts of Mike O'Koren, Phil Hubbard, Randy Ayers and Wes Unseld Jr. all will expire this summer.

"I want them all back with me," Jordan said. "We have a very good staff. Randy played a huge role in improving our defense from what it was, and I've been with my guys for forever. Hopefully this will be resolved soon."

--Center Etan Thomas, who missed all of the season after having heart surgery at the start of training camp, expects to be back and playing at 100 percent next season. Thomas's heart has long since been healed. The real concern is his sternum, which had to be cracked open in order to perform surgery on his heart.

The belief in the front office is that Thomas will be at full health midway through the summer and ready to contribute at the beginning of next season.

QUOTE TO NOTE: "We wanted to be a perennial playoff team, and now we've been just that for the last four years. Only Detroit has a longer string than that in the conference. But the players know that is not enough." -- Wizards president Ernie Grunfeld.
