Washington Wizards Notes, Quotes 2009-07-12
--New coach Flip Saunders sounds as if he wants to start getting more out of Nick Young as he heads into his third season.

"He's been on me a bit, trying to get me better. He wants me coming off screens harder and communicating more on the floor," Young said. "He clearly knows the game a lot. He's also more talkative than I thought he was."

In his second season, Young averaged 10.9 points per game in almost 23 minutes per game.

--G Gilbert Arenas has yet to speak to the media this offseason. However, when he does he'll surely be questioned about how much dropping close to 20 pounds from last season will help his game. Arenas, according to sources, knew he had to drop the weight to make the going easier on his surgically repaired (three times) left knee.

--F Javaris Crittenton will join Young, Dominic McGuire and JaVale McGee on the team's Las Vegas summer team. "Have to get as much time as I can on the floor with these guys," he said. "I think it's a good thing to be going with them out to Vegas."

QUOTE TO NOTE: "We just want to see continued improvement out of those guys. It's crucial that they continue to fight for time in the rotation." -- Wizards president Ernie Grunfeld on the development of Javaris Crittenton, Nick Young, Dominic McGuire and JaVale McGee this summer.
