Washington Wizards Notes, Quotes 2009-03-01
--In a recent television interview, former coach Eddie Jordan said he anticipated his firing the day it occurred.

"I knew it was going to happen the second I walked into Ernie's office," Jordan said, referring to team president Ernie Grunfeld.

--F Caron Butler attributed the team's poor play on Saturday to the absence of President Obama, a spectator in Washington on Friday night.

"We didn't have the energy. You can't have that every night, the thrill you get from having him around," Butler said.

--F Dominic McGuire said that the success he has is directly tied to his effort and hustle every day.

"Can't ever let the intensity down or else it's just not going to work for you," he said.

--Friday's game marked the first time the Wizards placed eight players in double figures since Feb. 5 1993.

--Eight Wizards have missed a total of 180 games, the most total games missed by a team in the league.

QUOTE TO NOTE: "I didn't want the ball to be thrown up until he walked in, either, because I didn't want to miss that." -- F Caron Butler, commenting on President Obama's arrival at the game.
