Washington Wizards Getting Inside 2009-06-21
The Wizards' No. 1 priority is to find the right fit with their fifth overall selection in the June 25 NBA draft.

One of the players reportedly scheduled to visit D.C. for a private workout is Arizona State guard James Harden (6-4, 215).

He's a player they'll have to seriously consider at No. 5. Another player on their wish list might be Arizona forward Jordan Hill (6-10, 235).

There are some around the league who think the Wizards might shop this pick and possibly move down in the draft, acquiring a veteran player in the process. Dallas might be interested in the pick.

Through the years, there have been some great No. 5 picks, including Devin Harris in 2004, Dwyane Wade in 2003, Vince Carter in 1998, Ray Allen in 1996 and Scottie Pippen in 1987.

SEASON HIGHLIGHT: The most intriguing moment of the season came when team president Ernie Grunfeld pulled the trigger and fired Eddie Jordan after the team got off to a 1-10 start. Jordan, who coached the team into the playoffs for the previous four seasons, began the season with his hands tied without injured Arenas and Brendan Haywood.

TURNING POINT: The season began miserably with a 1-10 start and deteriorated progressively. Ed Tapscott was tabbed to take over the team's coaching job to keep the seat warm until the team could find a suitable replacement.
