Washington Wizards Getting Inside 2009-03-23

Gilbert Arenas has declared himself fit for basketball action on more than one occasion the last few months. However, with nothing to gain from playing him, the team has to decide whether it is going to use him.

The Wizards probably will.

Arenas has been out all season due to a left knee injury.

Washington was a playoff team for the last four years before injuries decimated the club. Along with the ugly number of victories (16) the Wizards have had this season, they have seen the Washington Capitals become the more highly favored team, and ticket sales have plummeted.

Arenas, according to club officials, probably will return to the court, but it will be only to generate interest in people to purchase tickets in the slumping economy.

SUNS 128, WIZARDS 96: The Wizards had no answer for Jason Richardson, who scored 17 of his season-high 35 points in the third quarter Saturday as the Suns cruised.

Phoenix dominated the game in most statistical categories, including assists, where the Suns had a 32-14 advantage. Antawn Jamison led the Wizards with 25 points.
