Washington Wizards Getting Inside 2009-12-12

Washington Wizards Getting Inside 2009-12-12No one is more upset with the play of the Wizards than the man who put the team together.

"I don't think anybody is happy with where we are at this time," general manager Ernie Grunfeld said after a recent practice.

After injuries and the firing of coach Eddie Jordan a little more than one year ago, the Wizards still haven't jelled under new coach Flip Saunders. Heading into Thursday's home game against Boston the Wizards were 7-12 and in last place in the Southeast Division, and then they lost again.

"I think it's going to take a little time," Grunfeld said. "We've had injuries to Antawn Jamison, Mike Miller, Randy Foye and Caron Butler. We still have time to come together. It's not something that's just going to happen. Let's face it, not having our players together for any consistent amount of time is hurting us."

CELTICS 104, WIZARDS 102: Gilbert Arenas scored 21 points but missed a pair of clutch free throws in the fourth quarter as the team lost its third in a row.

Arenas missed a pair of free throws with 26.7 seconds to play and the Wizards trailing 100-98.

All five Boston starters finished in double-figures, led by Rajon Rondo's 21 points and 11 assists.
