Washington Wizards Getting Inside 2009-11-21

Washington Wizards Getting Inside 2009-11-21The Wizards have to be concerned about the confidence of third-year guard Nick Young. A first-round pick out of USC in 2007, Young is at best an afterthought on what thus far has been a bad team.

Young logged just one minute in the team's game at Oklahoma City on Friday night. This, however, was a big improvement on the two previous games, a loss over Detroit and a relatively easy win vs. Cleveland. On the season, Young, once forecast by many to be on the verge of being a regular in the rotation, has played a total of 43 minutes. He hasn't scored a point in his last five games.

"I really don't know what to say," Young said. "I know that I have to earn my way onto the floor, and right now it's not happening for me. I'm telling myself not to be too discouraged, but I admit it's not easy."

THUNDER 127, WIZARDS 108: With their offense yet to live up to past standards, the Wizards have been priding themselves on the way they had been playing defense. However, the Wizards displayed little defense against Oklahoma City. The Thunder connected on 53 percent of their field goals and went 11-for-21 from behind the 3-point line to win going away. Caron Butler led the Wizards with 24 points. Antawn Jamison posted his second double-double (22 points, 12 rebounds), and Gilbert Arenas finished with 23 points and eight assists as the Wizards lost for the seventh time in eight games.
