Washington Wizards Getting Inside 2009-11-08

Washington Wizards Getting Inside 2009-11-08While this is not shaping up to look quite like last year, when the Wizards resembled a hospital ward more than a basketball team, the number of injuries that the Wizards have suffered in the early stages of the season are troubling.

Mike Miller, acquired over the summer to give the team depth, is going to miss at least a week and possibly more with a left shoulder sprain. Miller, who had played both shooting guard and small forward in the team's first five games, is expected to return around the same time that Antawn Jamison (shoulder) makes his 2009-10 debut. The Wizards have also already lost Caron Butler for a game because of a minor knee injury.

"It will be nice to get us all together and on the same page, good and healthy," center Brendan Haywood said. "We'll be okay, we'll be all right. Right now we've just got to build some momentum and be playing as well as we can when everybody is healthy."

PACERS 102, WIZARDS 86: Playing with absolutely no energy whatsoever, the Wizards dropped their third game in a row.

Washington fell behind by 18 points early and never posed a serious threat to the Pacers. Caron Butler led Washington with 24 points. Randy Foye added 16 in a losing effort.
