Washington Wizards Getting Inside 2009-02-01

Washington Wizards Getting Inside 2009-02-01
The Wizards have won back-to-back games just once this season, in December, when they picked up wins at Oklahoma City and then against an undermanned Houston team.

They stand a decent chance at replicating this Monday with a home game against Memphis that comes on the heels of their victory over the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday.

"I don't think anyone would have thought that it would come to this, but yeah, it is a goal at this point," Wizards forward Antawn Jamison said. "We need to win as many games as we can going into the break to get some momentum. We've still got the second half of the season to play and I don't plan on quitting, and I don't think any of my teammates are going to quit. So the best thing to do is start winning. That makes playing a lot more fun."

They'll get their chance come Monday.

WIZARDS 106, CLIPPERS 94: Washington combined a balanced offensive performance with sloppy play by the Clippers to end its five-game losing streak. Antawn Jamison led the way with 25 points and 12 rebounds, Nick Young added 22 and JeVale McGee added a career-high 18 points for the Wizards. Rookie Eric Gordon paced the Clippers with 25 points.
